Go Nuts for Donuts is a fast-paced pastry-picking card game for the whole family, with just a sprinkle of strategy. Outsmart your opponents and collect donuts fresh out of the oven for points. But choose carefully – if two or more players go for the same donut, nobody gets it!
How to play
The game takes place over multiple rounds. To start a round, every player secretly chooses which card they want from the donut row by picking up a selection card from their hand and placing it face down in front of them. The numbers on the selection cards represent the position of the card in the row.
When all players have a selection card in front of them, everyone simultaneously reveals them. Then, starting with the lowest selection number and counting up, players check to see if they get to take the card:
- If two or more people go for the same card, no one keeps it and the card is discarded.
- If only one player picks a card, they take it from the donut row and place it face up in front of them.
If a card has stars on the corners of the description border, this means it has a special power that must be activated as soon as it is taken from the donut row.
When all players have revealed their selection cards and the selected cards have either been taken or discarded, you refill the empty spaces on the donut row in numerical order with new cards from the donut deck. Players then take back their selection cards and begin a new round, which works just like the previous one.
The game ends when there aren’t enough donuts in the donut deck to fully replenish the donut row. At this point, everyone works out their score and the player with the most points is the winner!
