Scrawl 12+ is just like its buddy Scrawl Yellow but a bit more family-friendly. Some of the ruder cards have been taken out but it’s still a very funny game for bad drawers. As before, you alternate between drawing a surreal description - for example: “Putting makeup on an owl” or “The world’s biggest sneeze” - and taking wild guesses at the worrying doodles your friends and family have drawn for you.
How to play
Round up 4-8 friends and give everyone a clipboard and pen. Decide which colour scenario you are going to play with - black, white, pink or yellow. Then deal everyone a card and get ready to draw. Once everyone has finished drawing their scenario, pass your board to the left. You will now have a new board in front of you with a weird doodle on it. You must now describe what you see on a blank scrawl card. Clip that card over the doodle and pass it to the left. You now have to draw the description on the card you’ve been given, clip it over the description and pass it to the left. Keep up this pattern until your original board returns to you.
It’s now time to reveal the surreal journey your original phrase went on by laying your cards out in order. Begin by showing everyone your original scenario card, then your first doodle and so on. When you have laid out all the cards from your clipboard, you pick your favourite doodle and give the drawer responsible a point on the scorecard. In the incredibly unlikely event that your original scenario card closely matches the final scrawl card, you get 3 points.
Once all the scores are in, wipe down all the scrawl cards and start the whole insane journey again. The game ends when someone gets 2 more points than the number of people playing, or someone dies laughing.
