What came first is a super simple family party game where the oldest wins. Predict what came first - Burger King or McDonald’s? mayo or ketchup? basketball or volleyball? - and put your money where your mouth is in this exciting betting trivia game!
How to play
This game is best played in pairs so partner up. Then choose your playing piece and matching chips. Finally, blindly pick a time token, keep it secret and decide where on the board you want to place it facedown. When someone lands on the token later in the game, they will win it, remove it from the game and must act on it whether it’s good or bad.
You’re now ready to play the first card. On the cards, there are 2 choices, and it's your mission to work out which one came first and bet on your hunch. You can bet up to 3 chips on the outcome. Or, if you’re feeling really confident you can bet one chip on the exact year. After everyone has placed their bets, flip the card over to reveal the correct answer. If you chose the wrong answer you move back the same number of chips that you bet. If you backed the right answer you move 1 space up the board for each chip you placed. If you guess the exact year correctly, you move an additional 5 places. If you guess incorrectly you’re not penalised, you’ve just wasted a chip on that turn. Once everyone has moved their tokens accordingly, take your chips back and you play a new card. Keep playing until someone reaches the finish and claims victory!
