Doppelt so clever is a sequel to 2018 Kennerspiel des Jahres Nominee, Ganz Schön Clever. With five new dice-marking challenges and a new action beyond the re-roll and “use one more die” actions of the earlier game, you really have to be twice as clever to score big!
On your turn, you roll all 6 coloured dice at once, choose one and place it on your scorepad. You then cross off that value and colour on your score sheet. The white dice is wild and can be used in place of any other colour. But remember, the white and blue dice will always combine.
Once you’ve chosen a dice, you put all the dice that show a lower value than the dice you chose on the silver tray printed in the box. If you picked the lowest value dice, no dice are placed on the silver tray. Dice on the silver tray can no longer be used.
With the remaining dice, you repeat this process twice until you have three dice on your game sheet. You put the three remaining dice on the silver tray. The other players can then choose one of the dice on the silver tray to mark a space on their score sheet. A round ends once everyone has been the active player.
As the game goes on, you’ll unlock combos and additional moves. You’ll earn reroll abilities and extra dice. There is also a fox bonus that gives you extra points on your lowest scoring area, so don’t leave any colours out!
With new colours and scoring methods, you’ll have to think twice as much!
After everyone has taken their last turn, it’s time to work out your score! The player with the most points wins! If you manage to score over 320 points, you’re twice as clever!
